Interest Group Leaders' Conference 2006

Business Studies Club will be organising an Interest Group (IG) Leaders' Conference 2006 for Student Leaders of Temasek Business School on 4 November 2006.

Both the Executive and Sub Committee Members of the 12 Diplomas will be attending as we aim to know these students, bringing them forward to us as we understand them as an individual (diploma), allowing us to steer towards the direction of the students’ welfare.

To successfully execute this Conference, we need the Sub Committee Members of BSC to help the Club as Conference Officials. Eight Committees have been formed to look into the running of the event mainly; Administration, Estates, Event, F&B, Logistics, Operations, Publicity and Public Relations, with each being headed by a Manager.

In each committee, you will be part of an elite team where you will be planning and seeing to the development and progress of the Conference which will determine the success and outcome of it.

Details will be as follows:

IG Leaders’ Conference 2006
4 November 2006
1000 – 1700
Auditorium 1

Besides earning Seal Points, this is an opportunity for you to work hand in hand with your fellow BSC Executive and Sub Committee Members and not forgetting as you understand the various diploma’s culture and working style of the respective Interest Group Leaders, creating a platform for a common identity within Temasek Business School with the Business Studies Club as the “Umbrella”.

If you have what is takes to be part of this Conference, do leave your name, matrix, contact number and two preferred committees which you will like to be in to Jacqueline at 93397723 or jacq.bsc@gmail.com. We will then be contacting you shortly with regards to this event.

Upcoming Events!

READ READ READ~

1) Hady Mirza - Singapore Idol (IMPORTANT!)
One of our TP graduates, Hady Mirza, will be competing for a place in the finals of the Singapore Idol competition tomorrow night (14 September). We would like to encourage you to tune in to Singapore Idol tomorrow night at 8pm and to lend him your support by SMSing your votes.

It has been confirmed that if Hady makes it through to the final (results will be known when voting ends on Thursday) the producers will be bringing Hady and possibly the other finalist (Jonathon or Jasmine) to TP at 3pm this Friday September 15 to film a special pre-final program which will be aired next week.

As part of this event Hady will make a short thank you speech to staff and students for our support and will also spend some time signing autographs and taking pictures with us. We would like to request the support of all sub committee members of BSC to attend this event. Details: Friday Sept 15 at 2.45pm;
Venue: Open area next to Jupiter's Café.

As this event is intended to be televised nationally, we would like to encourage those who are available to attend. We understand that it is the school holidays but any effort would be much appreciated and will go a long way in showing everyone the TP spirit.

Of course, this is all dependent on Hady securing enough votes tomorrow night to make it to the finals. This event will proceed only if Hady qualifies for the final. Thank you very much for your support.

P.S: For those sub committee members who are helping out for this event, and also volunteering for the standard chartered marathon. Please bring along your application forms so that you can submit them to Tricia at the same time. This saves time and effort for you too.

2) Standard Chartered Marathon
(From Tricia)
To all the sub committee members,
those who have not submitted their application forms for the standard chartered marathon, please do so as soon as possible! You can contact Tricia (mobile: 81885558) to submit the forms and for more information regarding this event.

I understand that it is the holidays, so i will try to arrange for you guys to pass me your forms more conveniently. What I suggest is that you guys can submit the forms as a group instead of each individual. One thing to take note is, you will definitely have to make a trip down to campus to submit the forms to me.

In addition, if there are anyone who is interested but do not have the application forms, they can download it here. I seek for your help to spread the word around to your friends and classmates, as we are still recruiting more volunteers but for a limited period of time.

Hurry! The closing date is nearing! Thank you all for your cooperation!

2) Bizwareness (From Wesley)
Bizwareness is all about writing newsletter for business school, we write basically anything under the sky; which is acceptable from which food stall is good, to rumours in school, etc.

Benefits for the editorials team is:
1) Tonnes of Seal Points
2) Get to work with Wesley
3) Meet important people like director, etc.
4) Can post your photo on the editorial team page so everyone can see your beauty face
5) Learn how to run a newsletter company
6) May get chances to interview famous people like pop stars

(feifei: walao, i can't bring myself to type point number 2 =x)

A Message from Dainial Skye

Dear Sub Comms,

Thank you for all who came for the Sub Committee Camp. The enthuse level was phenomenal and I was proud of the performance of each and everyone of you.

I am glad that you guys enjoyed the camp, especially the auction which was memorable to me and as I believe, to you all as well. The feeling of all of us coming together with one common interest really excites me to coordinate more projects with my beloved sub comms. I really love you guys! (Ain't being gay here k)

I hope you continue to support future events and will contact you all soon for a gathering of sorts. I will also be conducting a Sub Comm Project Review Meeting for all sub comms. Further details will be updated to this blog!

Meantime, keep those pictures of the camps in! We might publish it in the upcoming Bizwarness for all to see! Enjoy your holidays and see you guys soon! :)

Your dearest Sub Commitee Executive,

Dainial aka Skye.

P.S: Don't call me god when you see me, or the real god will be really angry! ;)

Thank You from Jacqueline feifei <3

I'd like to thank everyone of you who've made this camp possible, on behalf of both the Sub Commitee Executives and the entire BSC Main Committee!

It was my virgin experience organising a camp. Despite the difficulties faced, i was happy that our efforts paid off! To be frank, i'd very afraid that everything will go wrong or you guys will feel bored or dislike the programmes or leave halfway throughout the camp or any problems that may occur. I'm one who thinks and worries a lot lol. But you guys proved my wrong, I was very happy seeing you guys happy too! (: I hope that this camp has successfully served it's purpose of allowing you to know the Main Committee and make more friends.

We'll organise an outing real soon, as we Camp Commandants didn't really got to know any subcomms! That's sad isn't it? ): and also dear all, please tag and leave your link here so we can link you! is it that okay? Hope to see you guys participating in future BSC events, which i reckon you would right?

I LOVE YOU,
my deardear beloved subcomms!
You guys made my 2 days (:

with love,
jacq the feifei (:
